Pros: excelent sound works well with my Dell Lap Top. However it does not work easily with my Samsung tablet. I used an adaptor cable but even tough I have to do some procedures to get it working with the tablet: first connect the adaptor cable and then connect the mike on it. I wish it could be easily recognizable for Android tablet.

The microphone works as a stereo lavalier mic, but the sound it outputs is not that great. If I brought it into my cell phone or tablet, it was noisy. If I brought it into an dedicated audio recorder, it was a bit better. There are much better (and cheaper) lavalier options that work better than this one.

I wanted some microphone that can easily connect to DR-05X. After looking for some reviews, i found this Sony ECM-CS3. Pros: 1)Length of microphone - its medium size, good for using on short distances, but on long distances its too short for it. 2)Sound Quality- The sound quality is perfect. 3)Size - its small so it easily fits in my motorcycle helmet and it does not have additional power supply, so it is power supplied with your Recorder. 4) Cheap- it is much cheaper and better in quality than some other microphones on the market. Cons: i cant find any, for some it will be the length. also nothing extra comes with it, it is just the microphone, no other adapters. I will give it 9, because of the length and no extra adapters or anything, but for its price its perfect.

As a tie clip mic, it works really really well. Great sound quality, and a minimum of noise... provided said tie, or other garment that its attached too doesn't move around too much. I also use $$$$ headpiece mics, but one of my guys complains they are not all that comfortable... so I ran one of these in parallel just to compare the voice quality. Its not the same of course, but for online streaming, the difference is almost non-existent. I've even used these units for broadcast purposes in some situations. I first started using this, when one of my $$$ mics quite working, and I had a big concert to record. I figured, well its better than nothing... and by golly, it worked out really well. I now routinely use these mics for ambient recording, as well as some piano work, and have been really pleased with their performance. Alas, placement is key, and even though my colleagues may laugh at my use of a consumer mic, they also compliment me on the results. Alas, there is a steep learning curve, when using a microphone for purposes other than what it was designed for. Just like any microphone, you can't just throw it in a room, hit record and expect good results.Read full review

Just needed a replacement for my gaming headphones Mic as it was dropping down. This thing is great, people in games think I have a full on dedicated Mic because of my sound quality. Wish I could see their faces when I say it’s a $20 clip on. I have one complaint- the cord is SUPER short. It’s main use my assumption is for using on a DSLR camera or something when recording video, so I figure that’s why it’s so short. Definitely get a cheap extension along with it if you see yourself needing more than about 3 Feet. Great mic however
